Community RhythmJAM!™ is where everyone can feel young-at-heart as they are encouraged to play and create rhythm and song!! This therapeutic group drumming program is a wonderful place to experience a reduction in stress, improvement in mood states, enhanced creativity and bonding, boost the immune system, reduce pain, and enhance cognition. In short, support overall optimal health and wellness while improving everyday quality of life! Therapeutic group drumming is an exercise in utilizing our natural physiological response to rhythm and music to achieve beneficial outcomes. It is a non-competitive, inclusive activity that encourages individual creativity, breaks down social barriers, encourages freedom of expression, exercises non-verbal communication, and embodies unity and cooperation to promote physical or emotional healing. Therapeutic group drumming is a holistic, active process involving all aspects of physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological functionality, stimulating the body's natural physical and emotional healing processes. Therapeutic group drumming as a wellness tool has been proven to decrease depression, anxiety, and stress; boost immune system functioning, and benefit physical health. A growing body of research is demonstrating the positive effects of group therapeutic drumming. Dr. Barry B. Bittman, MD, has published groundbreaking studies showing its benefits to the immune system, stress levels, and mood. No prior musical experience necessary!!!
