Bring a lawn chair, blanket, and umbrella for park seating. Your own food welcome as well as refreshments from three food trucks onsite. A family and dog friendly event!
“It’s a showcase of entertainment provided by participants enjoying a lifetime of music making,” says Second Time Arounders founder & director Bill Findeison, who’s adult marching band, the Second Time Arounders, will be marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade later this year.
“These are a fine mix of amateur and professional musicians in seven bands who enjoy the activity enough to continue playing long after the notes of their high school, college, or military bands have expired.” Bill adds.
“The quality of musicianship is an experience to hear…live” adds Stephen P. Brown who directs the Dunedin Concert Band and is the General Director of the Dunedin Music Society, sponsor of this event. “The Festival has grown from 3 bands to 7 in just 4 years, including groups from Stuart and the Villages!”
The music begins at 1pm but picnics on the lawn can begin much sooner. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, fill yourself from the three food trucks on site, and be sure to make a donation to help the band programs sponsor the hundreds of volunteer performers on stage. Alcohol prohibited in the park.
